Enhancing Security Systems for AF Switchgear
Introduction:
AF Switchgear, a major manufacturing company of niche industrial high voltage switchgear comprising of four manufacturing facilities on two sites in Nottinghamshire. Their modern design, administration and manufacturing facilities cover over two hectares. Every process is managed in house from concept design with end clients and consultants through to commissioning and service.
The Problem:
AF Switchgear were facing significant challenges with their existing security systems. The company had concerns regarding the reliability and maintenance of their Fire Alarms, Intruder Alarms and CCTV systems. These issues not only posed potential security risks but also undermined the confidence of the management and employees in their security infrastructure.
The Solution:
Our team conducted a thorough assessment of the existing systems, taking into account the unique needs of the industrial setting and the high-level security requirements. The CCTV system was designed and integrated to produce a modern effective security system, comprising in excess of 140 cameras spread across 6 independent industrial units. The fire alarm system is spread across 6 units but all linked back to one location to ensure ease of use for the customer whilst providing a high level of detection and monitoring. We also recommended upgrading the Intruder Alarm system to enhance perimeter security. Advanced sensors and alert systems were deployed to ensure immediate notification of any unauthorized access attempts, further strengthening the facilities security.

After implementing our comprehensive security solution, AF Switchgear experienced a significant improvement in their security infrastructure. In conclusion, our tailored security solution not only addressed the technical challenges AF Switchgear faced but also provided a robust, modern, and effective security infrastructure that met their specific needs. The customer has expressed their satisfaction for the consultation, audit, design and installation provided, and following a period of successful maintenance have requested that we progress with installation of access control barriers at pivotal entry routes to their sites.
